Edible wild plants: Mint - (Wilderness survival tips and courses) Video

Mint was originally used as a medicinal herb to treat stomach ache and chest pains, and it is commonly used in the form of tea as a home remedy to help alleviate stomach pain. Fresh mint is usually preferred over dried mint when storage of the mint is not a problem. The leaves have a pleasant warm, fresh, aromatic, sweet flavor with a cool aftertaste. Mint leaves are used in teas, beverages, jellies, syrups, candies, and ice creams.

I hear ya. I'd rather use fresh picked mint. The mint from the store wasnt complety dried to brittle state though, but sort? of inbetween. A few ounces will last a long time. I keep it in its plastic container with the lid on so that it does not dry out any more.

its actually really good with tea, its a bummer u had to use dried though, fresh? picked has a much stronger/more distinct flavor with tea, really good stuff, i had weed issues in my backyard, the safest non-toxin way of gettin rid of the weed was planting mint, it grows much more aggressive than weeds, kills most other plants near by to spread, i put it where ever i commonly get weed, and pluck em out when they spread onto grass, looks and smells nicer than weeds.

Mint grows like a weed, so thats a good thing if you like it. I put about 1/4 teaspoon in tea and it gives it a good "wintermint" or "spearamint" flavor. You can filter out the leave bits after its in the hot tea for a few minutes. I got a few ounces of it ground up and? dried reasonbly well at the supermarket for about a dollar. It could be hard to find in a store, they often don't have it.

cool?
